Six Sigma Black Belt Training
Summary:
Adaptive’s Six Sigma curricula were designed by GE-certified Master Black Belts, with an emphasis not only on the traditional elements of a Six Sigma course, but also the practical elements required for making real-world business improvements, such as change acceleration techniques. This 5-day (40 hour) course provides students with an advanced level of knowledge of the theory and application of Six Sigma DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) principles and tools. Building upon concepts taught during the Six Sigma Green Belt course, students will take a deep dive into DMAIC theory, learn additional tools and skills, and most importantly practice utilizing the theory and tools in a series of specially designed case studies and exercises based on real-world problems.
Learning Objectives:
Students who successfully complete this course will be able to:
- Effectively lead small to medium scale business process improvement efforts utilizing Six Sigma problem solving methodology with direct guidance from a Six Sigma Master Black Belt.
- Gain a “teaching” level of knowledge of the Six Sigma DMAIC theory and application, in order to potentially train others on the basics of the problem solving methodology.
- Mentor and direct the efforts of multiple Six Sigma Green Belts; be capable of conducting project reviews.
- Understand the typical issues many organizations attempting to utilize Six Sigma problem solving methodology face, and establish a plan to overcome these challenges.
Certification Requirements:
Students who complete the class and score 70% or better overall on the 100 question exam, will receive a Black Belt training completion certificate. Additionally, students desiring to receive an Adaptive Six Sigma Black Belt certification and corresponding plaque, must attend the 5-day Lean Thinking course, and complete a total of two Six Sigma projects (includes one Green Belt project), which must be periodically reviewed and finally approved by an Adaptive trainer.
Prerequisites:
Adaptive Six Sigma Green Belt training or prior approval by an Adaptive instructor.
Investment:
All classes include training materials, test, completion certificate. Public classes include up to six hours of project mentoring, continental breakfast and lunch.
Adaptive disclaimer: Regardless of “methodology”, maximum training benefit and ROI will not be realized without a defined strategy, an engaged leadership team, a culture centered around process improvement, and strong management and accountability system to help execute and sustain the changes.
